Resident/Fellow Symposium Poster Session 2025

The North Carolina Psychiatric Association (NCPA) will host a Poster Session on Friday, March 22 during the Resident Symposium & Career Expo in Fayetteville, NC. There will be two categories: 1) Medical Students 2) Resident/Fellows. Submissions are due by January 31. 

1st Place Medical Student Prize - $100

1st Place Resident/Fellow Prize - $150

Guidelines

Please submit a 250-500 word abstract (max 3000 characters) addressing the case or work completed. This can include case reports, QI projects, research projects, narrative medicine.

  1. Introduction or purpose to the work or case described
  2. Description of the work performed or study methods
  3. Summary of the results and/or clinical relevance, and
  4. Conclusions reached

Eligibility

To be eligible for judging and awards, the "First Author" must be a psychiatric resident/fellow or medical student.

While there may be multiple authors on a single abstract, the individual listed as the "First Author" will be responsible for presenting the poster on April 4. The "First Author" will be eligible for awards.

Each "First Author" may only submit one abstract. 

Resident/Fellows & Medical Students will be judged separately.

Fees and Expenses

Everyone presenting a Poster or Abstract must complete a registration form and pay the appropriate fees associated with registration. Register for the Symposium here. Those who are selected to participate in the Poster Session will receive a $15 gift card at the conclusion of the Resident Symposium. Attendance to the Symposium sessions is required to receive this gift card.

Equipment

Presenters must bring a mounted 36" H x 48" W poster. Easels will be provided. (Print shops can mount posters to foam board, etc. for you.)
