During the session, judges will ask each presenter questions
regarding his or her poster
submission to assess the individual’s knowledge of the topic.
Judging

are
1)
Content of Poster
2)
Visual Presentation
3)
Presenter Knowledge of their topic
4)
Applicability to Practice
Each
judge will rate each poster on a 10-point
scale in each area. The final
score from each judge will be the
sum of the four ratings.
The final score for each poster
will be the sum of all of the judges’ final ratings.
Scoring
Guidelines:
Content
of Poster
Ratings on this
area should be based on the content of
the information
displayed on the poster.
Is the information clearly described? In general, can you understand the
basis for the study, methods,
results and discussion?
Visual Display
This
area is intended to address the
design of the poster itself. Is it
easy to read? This includes assessment of font,
presence or absence of typographical
errors, use of color, and really anything
that
impacts the
general appearance and presentation of the
information being presented. Other factors
to be considered include the use of diagrams, images, or tables, and the
layout of the
information (does it enhance understanding
or provide distraction).
Presenter Knowledge of Their Topic
During
the judging, each presenter will be asked questions
about their
topic. They will be rated
based on how fluent they are on the
topic. Do they
understand the
topic they
are presenting thoroughly?
Can they answer reasonable
questions on the information
they are presenting to
increase the information available for the
judges? In addition, the
scores for the presenters in this
area will be based on how clearly and concisely they
present information, and answer questions.
Applicability to
Practice
This area
is intended to
address the issue of whether this
study sheds some light about
an important
issue in the practice of psychiatry. Remember to
consider the various issues that
relate to
the practice
of psychiatry. The issue could be related to
patient
care, administration, teaching,
systems based practice, and others.
