The Disaster Response Network - Background

The Disaster Response Network (DRN) was formed in 1995 by the North Carolina Psychological Foundation (NCPF) as an organized way to involve psychologists in disaster response throughout North Carolina. An agreement was formed with the American Red Cross (ARC) in order for the DRN to be a mental health partner in responding to disasters.

The Foundation has since reached out to other mental health professional associations and other agencies to formulate a broad disaster mental health response network that can provie a coordinated and comprehensice response.
